The Shows
You’d be exposed to a variety of music from ambient to 80’s new wave every other week. Dark and esoteric, but still crammed with moments of funky, fun, ethereal, strange, and intriguing. There’s something new to learn and enjoy from the artists shared; they’ve often paved the way for a multitude of subgenres that you’re probably interested in currently.
Once a week you can tune in to hear the most calming ambient and electronic songs. Any time you want to relax, study, or look out over onto a large grassy field, this is the station for you.
Each week we will be diving into the many sounds and movements in the realm of experimental pop and dance music. Some genres included are hyperpop, deconstructed club, art pop, electropop, ballroom/vogue, jungle, garage, industrial, and many others.
Every other week we play local artists and other indie/alternative hits. We also interview fellow students that attend UNR and give information about the local art scene in Reno.
This show mixes passion for classical and world music with equal representation in music history and modern musical culture. The musical landscapes of instrumental music by female composers are too often forgotten or discounted, so it's likely that there will be music that almost none of the listeners had heard before. This show is about telling the stories of the women behind the music.
